The book "Barcelone, la ville des marchés" (Barcelona, the city of markets) portrays urban planning, architecture, history and society of the city, from the appearance of the first covered markets in the middle of the 19th century, to the present. And it does so by focusing on the network of 40 public markets, true neighborhood centers and energizers of life and activity around them, constantly rethought, redesigned and modernized to adapt to the times.

The book is profusely illustrated with handmade drawings and includes texts by Miguel Usandizaga, El globus vermell and Sergi Garriga Bosch.

Miguel Usandizaga: Architect and professor of the School of Architecture of the Vallès (ETSAV-UPC). He has organized workshops that I have published several articles on the mercats.

They organize all kinds of activities (workshops, guided tours, urban itineraries, debates, etc.) and participate in various publications.
