This book studies the way in which the architect configures the structure. The relationship between the structure and what surrounds it. How the structure manifests itself in architecture. We will see when and why the structure is exposed. When and why the structure is hidden. When and why the structure is used as an illusory effect, either of Gravity or of Space. But above all, we wanted to verify that the structure is more than just support. And we will do it by studying historical structures such as the Parthenon, the Sainte Chapelle, the Pantheon, the Palace of Carlos V, the Cathedral of Saint Paul, the Alhambra and Santa Sofia. And also through the monographic study of the work of Mies van der Rohe, one of the great masters of 20th century architecture.
