Mies van der Rohe, Monument to Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, Berlin 1926
Constructing game composed of geometrical prisms, where besides his esthetical value, are presented as a compositive element, their proportions and the sculptural possibility confers them varied formal solutions.
His form is inspired by the monument to the leaders of the November Revolution of 1918-1919 in Germany and the founders of the German Communist Party, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht.
Made by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and opened on 13 June 1926, it was destroyed by the Nazis on January of 1935.
CREATIVE MIES 1926 ART GAME invites to recreate the Monument following the instructions or realizing new interpretations and abstract compositions, where the material, the form and the geometry are the only ornament.
In him, a series of translucent prisms permits the realization of different constructions and thanks to the subtle colourful transparencies, created by the ambient light, form a combination full of new symbolic interpretations.
